Lucy Grannell
She is a native of Wexford town and left in 1999 to study Prosthetics and Orthotics (BSc) in the University of Salford, Manchester. Following graduation, she worked in Southampton for a year and then moved to Bristol where she stayed until 2008. During her time in Bristol, Lucy developed a keen interest in the biomechanics and gait analysis of the lower limb. She worked as an active member of several teams in North Bristol NHS Trust; including rheumatology, diabetic, muscloskeltal and paediatric departments. The experiences she gained from Bristol and working with such knowledgeable colleagues set her up for a love of orthotics and foot and ankle conditions.
The arrival of the Lucy’s first nephew encouraged a move home to Ireland to be closer to family. Since 2008, Lucy has worked for Ability Matters (Dublin) and then APOS Ltd (Galway) maintaining her orthotic skills. Although she loved working as an Orthotist in Ireland, it requires considerable travel and little prospect of finally residing in her hometown of Wexford. She made the decision to return to University as a mature student and completed her BSc in Podiatry at NUI Galway, qualifying in 2015. Finally she made her way home with her husband (Liam) and their young family and established The Mobile Foot Clinic in 2016 and rebranded Grannell Footcare and Orthotic Clinic in March 2018.
She loves working with feet and finds the complex yet logical mechanics of the foot, ankle and lower limb a fascinating and intriguing area of study. She enjoys learning about new techniques, material and educating herself in relation to lower limb pain relief and rehabilitation.

Liam is married to Lucy and started with the Grannell Foot Clinic (officially) in January 2020.
